Founder and Principal

Kristen is a dynamic and experienced strategy and leadership consultant, with a keen appreciation for different perspectives. She has lived and worked in Brazil, France, New Zealand, and across North America. Over the past 20+ years, she has been lucky enough to develop actionable brand and business strategies for clients and help them develop and launch marketing capabilities and campaigns to drive awareness and demand-generation. Along the way, she became a certified leadership coach and a certified Dare to Lead™ facilitator. Laura Pelen

Team Strategist

Laura Pelen has 20 years of experience developing and implementing profitable growth strategies for mid-size and Fortune 500 companies.  She is both strategic and process oriented, with specialties in marketing strategy and implementation, brand and identity management, and corporate strategy.  She has worked across a range of industries with both B-to-B and consumer companies, including Pepsi, Discover Card, Cars.com, Diners Club, Knight Ridder, Borden Foods, L’Oreal, American Dental Association, Prophet, and The Cambridge Group.  Laura holds a Master of Management degree in marketing and strategy from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Stephanie Walsey Adam

Team Specialist

Stephanie brings an integrated marketing perspective to companies based on her 20+ years in brand strategy and marketing communications. Her broad industry knowledge includes managing projects at companies such as Kraft, HSBC, HP, Harrah’s, Cadence Health, and Target, among others. Prior to working with Hemingway Strategies, Stephanie was the Executive Director of Marketing at Northwest Community Healthcare, in Arlington Heights, IL. Her experience at NCH includes the evaluation and organization of the marketing department, identifying brand equity, brand positioning, and a new brand identity, as well as the development of annual marketing plans for multiple service lines. Stephanie holds an MBA in Marketing from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
